MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW
Thrive Flowers & Thrive Flower School present…
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW.
1ST PLACE VISUAL DISPLAY AWARD WINNER.
Our visual display, As Above, So Below, is a 360-degree engaging display transporting the audience at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show to ancient Egypt.
Symbolism abounds in this stunning installation inspired by sacred geometry, divine proportion, and the Tree of Life. It blends structured forms, rich textures, and flowing movement. Reflective elements allow light and shadow to dance, while fresh and dried flowers symbolise the cycle of life and death.
To look to the future, you must first look to the past. We see our sustainable practices and education as the future of our industry. Omitting floral foam and single-use plastics, sourcing seasonal fresh flowers where possible, and utilising repurposed elements is standard practice for us and was fully implemented in our display. This immersive experience unites celestial and earthly realms, evoking a sense of wonder and divine harmony. It’s production has included months of planning, construction and testing off-site as well as 3 full days of on-site execution by a team of Thrive Flowers florists and Thrive Flower School students and graduates.
During the creation of our display, business owners Alyssa & Luke suddenly and tragically lost a beloved pet. The apt symbolism of this beautiful piece is a homage to the captivating and energetic Matisse and his short but love-filled life.
