MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW

Thrive Flowers & Thrive Flower School present…

natures resurgence

What if, against all odds, nature triumphed and the balance between humanity and the natural world was restored?

“Nature’s Resurgence” refers to the recovery of nature after a period of decline, degradation, or human interference. Nature reclaiming the modern world.

Given the profound threats of Climate Change and Mass Extinction facing humanity, how can we, as an industry so deeply intertwined with nature, address and minimise our environmental impact?

Our immersive eco-conscious design seeks to engage through breathtaking natural elements and intricate details, while also prompting you to reflect on your own ecological footprint.

The Floristry industry, unbeknown to most, is unsustainable. Please click here for information related to the environmental impacts of our industry.

All components featured in our visual display have been or will be recycled or reused. There are no single-use plastics in sight and all the mechanics utilised/ supporting structures are completely sustainable. All green waste will be dried and reused or composted.

A lot of the elements on the ‘forest floor’ are reused, having been sourced from Marketplace. The mulch, turf, moss and edging will be repurposed.

Our ‘understory’ and canopy’ layers consist of plants provided by Landscape Link. They have been selected based on their colour, texture and/or shape to support the overall visual design. All plants have been deliberately integrated into the design with the intention of reusing them afterward.

The remainder of the design has been constructed with either fresh, seasonal, Australian-grown flowers/ foliage or naturally dried, repurposed flora.

The entire design was achieved without landscapers, it was all hand built by florists and floristry students.
